Rina F. Kaplan
Rina F. Kaplan is the Founding and Managing Partner of Kaplan Law Group,
P.A. Rina was born in La Paz, Bolivia and speaks Spanish fluently. When
she was a teenager, she moved to Miami, Florida where she finished high school.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of
Miami in 1991, Rina went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern
University Shepard Broad Law Center in 1998. She was admitted to the Florida
Bar in 1999 and is licensed to represent her clients before all courts
within the State of Florida.
Rina opened her own law practice, Law Office of Rina Kaplan, P.A., in 2003
and since that time has focused her practice on handling personal injury
protection (“PIP”) insurance claims.
She also commits a large portion of her practice to helping victims of
automobile accidents, slip and falls, and dog bites.
While attending law school, Rina met her husband and law partner, Michael.
In 2009, Michael, joined her practice thereby forming Kaplan Law Group,
P.A. Rina has tried over 40 cases in State court and, in 2012, became
AV Preeminent rated, the highest possible rating for a lawyer in both
legal ability and ethical standards. Rina and Michael have two children,
Bryan and Steven. Rina enjoys yoga, dancing and spending quality time
with her family.

Michael D. Kaplan
Michael D. Kaplan is an Equity Partner of Kaplan Law Group, P.A. Michael
was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and lived in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and
New Jersey before finishing high school in Boca Raton, Florida.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from The Pennsylvania State
University in 1993, Michael went on to earn his Juris Doctor in 1998 from
Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. Michael was admitted
to the Florida Bar in 1998 and is licensed to practice before all courts
of the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District
of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida
and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Michael recently joined the FAPIA (Florida Association of Public Insurance
Adjusters) as an Associate Member and Bronze Sponsor. Additionally, he
joined the Florida Justice Association, which is a highly influential
and reputable organization of plaintiff attorneys in Florida.
For approximately the first ten years of his practice, Michael defended
various insurance companies and insureds in personal injury and property
damage claims; thus, he gained immeasurable knowledge as to how insurance
companies process claims and handle coverage matters. In 2009, Michael
joined his wife’s practice thereby forming Kaplan Law Group, P.A.
Since that time, the majority of his practice has been focused on assisting
homeowner’s and business owners with their property damage claims
against insurance companies.
Michael also represents plaintiffs in personal injury matters. Michael
has tried cases in both State and Federal court. He often handles the
Firm’s appeals which benefits clients by having the same appellate
counsel as the client’s trial counsel. Michael has argued before
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Supreme Court.
While attending law school, Michael met his wife and law partner, Rina.
Michael and Rina have two children, Bryan and Steven. Michael enjoys playing
poker and softball on a weekly basis and coaching his sons’ baseball
and soccer teams.
